Sports Premium

Sports Premium funding is used to support progress against the 5 key indicators outlined on the action plan:

Key Indicator 1 – The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – Chief Medical Officers guidelines recommend that primary school pupils undertake at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day in school.

Key Indicator 2 – The profile of PESSPA being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.

Key Indicator 3 – Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport.

Key Indicator 4 – Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.

Key Indicator 5 – Increased participation in competitive sport.

The action plan is ragged to show progress and achievement against the key indicators termly with evidence detailed.  This is reported and shared with governors.  A review is now completed a the end of the academic year online linked to the DfE demonstrating progress and effective use of funding.

Robust monitoring is completed by SLT and the curriculum team to ensure impact of funding is measured and reviewed.

Swimming skills and achievements such as the % that achieve 25m using a key stroke and water safety skills are also monitored and reported on, together with water safety skills.

Funding has been allocated enabling use of Real PE across all year groups ensuring effective development of fundamental movement skills applied across a range of sports and activities.    Professional development and high quality teaching is being further embedded through accessing support from PE Plus.

This provision has also contributed to progression across the 3 pillars of progression:

1. Fundamental Movement Skills.

2. Rules, strategies and tactics.

3. Healthy participation.
