Operation Encompass is a police-school partnership that alerts schools and academies to domestic abuse incidents affecting a child before the next school day, via a confidential notification to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), enabling immediate, sensitive pastoral support and ensuring children don’t have to explain their trauma, leading to better outcomes and reduced impact from abuse.
