Welcome from the Academy Lead
In 2015 our school became an academy under the umbrella of the University of Lincoln Academy Trust. So began our new and exciting journey with our partners. Since then, our academy family has achieved great things, not least of which was a very successful in 2017 judging the academy, ‘Good’ in all areas. This was further endorsed through the more recent Ofsted inspection in March 2023 where we maintained ‘good’ in all areas. A true reflection of the work of our dedicated staff and amazing, hard working children and families. It is very much a partnership and each of you matters.
My role as Academy Lead encompasses responsibility for many areas of academy life. Some of these are smooth management of the day to day academy, leadership and support of staff, along with taking the lead in safeguarding. These ‘titles’ may sound complicated but through each of them I am able to engage and interact with our children, which is the part of the role I particularly enjoy and find fulfilling. Watching our children achieve, knowing they are receiving a broad and balanced education, where every child, whatever their needs is catered for is invaluable. This together with working closely with parents and carers to ensure the academy is an open and transparent environment, collaborating with an effective pastoral team, teaching and support staff supports better provision for families and higher achievment for the children. Another task I am involved in is to collaborate with senior leaders to drive standards across the curriculum, ensuring the children have the opportunity to achive their full potential.
Our aim is to maximise the learning potential of each of the children through an exciting curriculum driven and delivered by our excellent staff, who are committed to producing well planned, relevant lessons ensuring the children can apply their knowledge and skills for use across their lives. Our children are always the focus of everything we do and we prioritise their opportunities at all times. By buiding confidence and enthusiasm we ensure transitions both from class to class and school to school are smooth and comfortable for our children.
We are very fortunate to have a keen pastoral team who can aleviate worries and concerns children and familes may have, and who offer support through an open door policy.
It is my privilege to hold the role I do in the academy and in particular to share in the lives of our amazing children as they make thier voyage through primary education.
