Pupil Premium at Holbeach Primary Academy
At Holbeach Primary Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil achieves their full potential—both academically and personally. As part of this dedication, we actively support the effective use of the Pupil Premium funding, a vital resource aimed at helping disadvantaged pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive in our school community.
What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to improve the attainment and well-being of pupils who may face economic or social challenges. It is designed to close the gap in achievement between disadvantaged pupils and their peers by providing targeted support tailored to their needs.
Who is Eligible?
Pupil Premium funding is allocated to pupils who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Children registered for free school meals (FSM) or those who have been eligible in the past six years
- Looked-after children (children in local authority care)
- Children of service personnel
- Pupils who have been adopted from care or left care under a special guardianship order
How to Apply
If you believe your child is eligible for Pupil Premium funding, please contact the academy office or visit the Government’s Free School Meals page for guidance on applying. Registering your child not only enables access to additional support but also helps the academy receive funding to provide valuable resources and interventions
How Pupil Premium is Spent at Holbeach Primary Academy
We take great care to ensure that Pupil Premium funding is used effectively to support the academic progress and personal development of eligible pupils. Our approach reflects our vision to prepare pupils for the next phase of their education by fostering resilience, self-regulation, and a love of learning.
Our strategy focuses on three key areas, aligned with evidence-based best practises:
- High-Quality Teaching: We invest in professional development for our staff to deliver excellent teaching that meets the needs of all pupils. This includes training in targeted interventions and personalised learning approaches.
- Targeted Academic Support: Pupils receive additional help through small group work, one-to-one tutoring, and catch-up programmes designed to close learning gaps and boost confidence.
- Tackling Non-Academic Barriers: Recognising that well-being is essential for success, we provide pastoral support, nurture groups, and opportunities to build character through extracurricular activities and community involvement.
We are proud to support our community through Pupil Premium and remain committed to providing the very best for every pupil at Holbeach Primary Academy.
