Religious Education at Holbeach Primary Academy
Religious Education at Holbeach Primary Academy follows the religions and worldviews approach reflecting upon local and global diversity. We develop rich lines of enquiry by exploring a variety of perspectives to support pupils becoming respectful and tolerant citizens with the skills and understanding to navigate an increasingly complex world.
Our Approach
- Early Years: Pupils begin by exploring concepts of community and identify within their own family, class and local area, later encompassing broader areas to be built upon throughout their education.
- Key stages 1 & 2: Pupils will develop knowledge, insight, skills and understanding about a wide range of religions and worldviews ensuring non-religious perspectives are included.
- Teaching is carefully sequenced to encourage development of oracy and thinking skills prompting pupils to reflect upon their own lived experiences to consider their worldview.
Vision in Action
At Holbeach Primary Academy, Religious Education inspires thoughtful, informed and reflective discussion drawing upon different perspectives and, within Key Stage 2, an awareness of diversity both within and between religions.
