Autumn Term 2 2025: The Railways

This term, our Year 3 and 4 classes are exploring the exciting topic of “The Railways.” In English, we are focusing on narrative writing inspired by our class story, The Iron Man by Ted Hughes, using imaginative language to create our own adventures. In Maths, we are developing our skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, solving problems and building confidence with numbers. Our History lessons will take us on a journey through time as we discover how the railways began, how they have changed, and the impact they had on people’s lives. In Science, we are investigating forces and magnets, exploring how they make movement possible — just like the powerful engines that helped trains travel across the country. It’s set to be a term full of discovery, creativity, and hands-on learning!
