Progress and Reporting at Holbeach Primary Academy
At Holbeach Primary Academy, we are committed to ensuring every pupil achieves their full potential both academically and personally. Monitoring pupil progress is a fundamental part of how we provide a high-quality education within our vibrant, inclusive community. This page explains how we track and report on your child’s progress throughout the school year, reflecting our vision to prepare pupils for success with resilience, self-regulation, and a love of learning.
How We Monitor Progress
We use a combination of formative and summative assessments to gain a clear and comprehensive understanding of each pupil’s development:
- Formative assessments happen regularly in the classroom and help teachers tailor learning to meet your child’s needs on an ongoing basis.
- Summative assessments provide a broader view of attainment at key points in the year, enabling us to track progress over time and identify areas for further support or enrichment.
Our approach ensures that all pupils receive the right challenge and support to thrive, in line with our vision to deliver a broad, balanced, and knowledge-rich curriculum.
Reporting to Parents and Carers
We believe that strong partnership with parents and carers is key to pupil success. To keep you fully informed about your child’s progress, we provide detailed reports and opportunities for dialogue throughout the year:
- Autumn Term Parent Consultation Evening-During this evening, you will receive an interim report outlining how your child is settling in and their initial progress. This provides a valuable opportunity to discuss their development directly with the class teacher.-
- Spring Term Consultation Evening-The second consultation evening offers a valuable opportunity to review progress, celebrate successes, and discuss any support needed to keep your child on track.
- End of Year Report- At the end of the academic year, you will receive a comprehensive written report. This details your child’s achievements, attainment levels, and areas for improvement, providing clear next steps to support their learning journey. There is the opportunity to meet with your child’s class teacher if further support is needed.
What You Can Do to Support Your Child
- Attend consultation evenings and engage with the interim and end-of-year reports.
- Discuss progress and celebrate achievements with your child at home.
- Support your child’s learning by encouraging reading and curiosity, which we emphasise across the academy.
- Contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about their progress.
For any further information about progress and reporting, please contact the academy office or your child’s class teacher. We look forward to continuing this partnership with you.
