EYFS

The Early Years Foundation Stage

There are four core principles upon which practice and learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is built. Working together, these principles foster the essential aspects to ensure quality learning and development for all children in the EYFS.

The Early Years Statutory Framework underpins the EYFS curriculum, practice and values alongside the academy values and ethos.

EYFS curriculum at Holbeach Primary Academy

The EYFS curriculum is developed to ensure that children are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to continue their learning journey through the academy in Years 1 to 6, linking to the subjects within the National Curriculum. Within the EYFS curriculum, key foundational knowledge is taught across seven areas of learning, revisited and deepened to establish a firm basis upon which future learning can be built upon. Through high-quality interactions between adults and children, learning is further developed on a individualised level for children within the provision of the learning environment, both in the classroom and outdoors.

See the curriculum area of the website to view the EYFS curriculum documents.
