Physical Education

Holbeach Primary Academy recognises the importance of a high quality teaching and learning and active PE curriculum to encourage children to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities.  High quality teaching enables children to develop competence to achieve, their creativity and imagination, and ability to excel in a wide range of physical activities, as well as participating in physical activity for sustained periods of time.  The school is keen to develop a wider participation in competitive sports and activities and continues to promote the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle for all the children.  Children across Year Groups 3, 4, 5 and 6 participate in swimming lessons to meet the swimming and water safety requirements.   

School Games Handball Competition YR3/4/5/6 - Wednesday 9th October 2018

19 children represented Holbeach Primary Academy at this competition.  The Year 3/Year 4 team played 3 group matches and successfully reached the final.  Despite going a goal down they managed to edge a great final 2-1 in the last minutes.  Congratulations!!

The Year 5/Year 6 team played off for 4th/5th places after their group games and drew 3-3 to finish joint 4th.  Their teamwork was complimented by the refereeing sports leaders so they can feel very proud indeed of their achievement.  Well Done.

School Games Mini Olympics - KS1 - Wednesday 2nd October 2018

12 children from Year 1 and Year 2 respresented Holbeach Primary Academy at this competition.  They took part in 8 events that included throwing bean bags, balls and frisbees into and at targets, as well as a jumping events and a range of running challenges. The 2 minute duration race was fantastic.  A huge well done to all our children who were absolutely fabulous in their behaviour, enthusiasm and sportsmanship.  Despite coming 6th they were within striking distance of the bronze medals.
