Through the key stages, pupils observe, explore and ask questions about living things and life processes, materials and physical processes. They begin to work together to collect evidence to help them answer questions and to link this to simple scientific ideas. They evaluate evidence and consider whether tests or comparisons are fair.
They use reference materials to find out more about scientific ideas. They share their ideas and communicate them using scientific language, drawings, charts and tables.
Schools Challenge 2018
We are excited to take in this amazing event at the Lincolnshire Show on the 20th and 21st June. This year we are doing the Waterwise challenge and have already had a visit for Anglian water. The aim of the challenge is to look at water efficiency within school and making improvements. So keep an eye in bags for further information.
Science Week 2018
We have had Science Week 2018 in the week of 12th March. The theme was Exploration and Discovery. We started the week of with an assembly. Each year group had different things to explore, such as grasshoppers in KS1 , poo in Y3/4 and Y5/6 making bird nests and exploring the ocean depths. See some of the photos below.
2017 Year of Investigation
As part of our year of investigation, children will also be combining their scientific skills with maths and design technology to investigate a range of problems throughout the year.
