Welcome to Class 4 - Y1/2
Class Teacher: Mrs Holly Booth and Miss Natalie Palmer
Muck, Mess & Mixtures!
This term our topic work began with an exciting week looking at worms! We have some very willing children to collect worms and we now know lots of exciting facts about worms too.
Week 3 sees the launch of our new topic Muck, Mess and Mixtures. As the title suggests we will be investigating lots of mixtures which will involve mess and muck. Keep checking back to see the photos of our exciting topic sessions.
Have you seen the Kids' Zone? Play games, and visit some cool websites. You can vote for your favourites!
Our PE days this term are Mondays for outside and Fridays for indoor. The weather is still unsettled and can be quite cold so please ensure children have appropriate clothing. Also, please could earrings be removed on the morning of the session, or please supply microporous tape to cover them safely.
Each child has a school reading book and diary which need to be brought into school everyday. They will be checked at several points of the week with the children being encouraged to recognise when they need to change their books. Please feel free to record reading of any kind in their diaries.
Homework will be issued to children on Fridays and is due to be completed and returned by the following Wednesday please. Each week there will be 2 pieces set as well as a set of spellings to learn. Spelling tests will be held on a Friday. Please do not hesitate to speak to one of us if there any queries.
There is a homework club available in school on a Monday lunchtime.
There are lots of free phonics games to play on www.phonicsplay.co.uk
We play some of these games during our phonics lessons.
