Welcome back after our short half term break. Our themed topic for the second half of the Spring Term is a word to avoid in a spelling test - Scrumdiddlyumptious! This is an Art and DT based topic which as the name suggests has a food theme. This continues the key focus for this whole Spring Term about Healthy Lifestyles. Art will focus on still life drawing, looking at the work of Cezanne and some clay modelling. DT will involve the children creating and evaluating a healthy smoothie. Maths will continue to focus on knowing, using, applying and reasoning with number facts for the 4 operations, particularly subtraction and division. In English we will look at Stories with issues and dilemmas, leaflets and poetry. The children in Music will continue this half term to learn to play some Brass instruments supported by tuition from the Lincolnshire Music Services. Science will see the children investigating sound. Our class PE days will continue to be Tuesdays (outdoor) and Thursdays (indoor Dance), so please ensure your child has their kit in school on these days. RE this term looks at the Christian build up to Easter. Our Computing curriculum will cover Spreadsheets this term using Purple Mash. We will also continue to learn new vocabulary in our French studies relating to colours and food.
Homework club is held on a Wednesday lunchtime should you have issues at home at any time with getting it completed. Please continue to help your child complete and sign their weekly diaries.
The launch of housepoints has been enthusiastically received by the children. At present RED house lead after the first half term, followed by, BLUE, YELLOW then GREEN.
